Commercial & Industrial Electric
The provision of electric service involves supply, distribution and transmission. The Board of Public Utilities monitors the federal transmission of energy and regulates the distribution of that energy. Improving how commercial entities and businesses purchase and use energy is a key initiative for the state to help businesses grow and prosper.

The NJBPU assists NJ commercial and industrial energy users manage these costs more wisely.  The BPU Office of the Business Ombudsperson, working with the Office of Clean Energy, provides advice to NJ businesses on the strategic use of renewables, efficiency technology and supply purchasing.

Through the office of the Business Ombudsperson, businesses can request assistance with identifying and understanding the many BPU initiatives and clean energy programs developed to help NJ business become more energy efficient, reduce their carbon footprint and reduce costs associated with energy.
